Free tool for Etsy sellers
Drop a video and check it against Etsy’s rules in seconds: 3–15 s, up to 100 MB, 500 px minimum, 2:1 to 1:2, sound removed. Each problem comes with a fix. The video never leaves your browser.
Free, no account. Drop one video at a time; it is read on your device and never uploaded.
An MP4 or MOV from your phone, camera or editor. It is read in your browser and never uploaded.
Length (3 to 15 s), file size (up to 100 MB), resolution (500 px minimum, 1080 px ideal), shape (2:1 to 1:2) and sound, each marked pass, check or fix. Codec and frame rate are shown too.
Every problem comes with what to change before you upload, and you see the first and last frames of the video.
Etsy’s help page sets the rules for listing videos: 3 to 15 seconds, up to 100 MB, at least 500 px with 1080 px or more as the ideal, a shape of 2:1 or 1:2, and no sound once uploaded. A phone clip usually fits, but a long take, a heavy export or a wide crop can fail, and you only find out in Shop Manager.
This checker reads the file in your browser and compares each number with Etsy’s rule. It shows the first and last frames too, so you can see what a shopper sees. Source: Etsy Help, How to Add Listing Videos. Every rule explained: Etsy listing video requirements.
A listing video can be 3 to 15 seconds long and up to 100 MB, at least 500 px with 1080 px or more as the ideal, shaped 2:1 or 1:2. You can add up to 2 videos per listing, and Etsy removes the sound. Etsy’s Seller Handbook says videos longer than 15 seconds will be clipped, so the end is cut. Trim it to 15 seconds or less and show the product early.
No. Etsy’s help page says the video will not contain any audio once uploaded. Voice-over and music are lost, so make sure the video works silent.
Etsy says it accepts most common video formats and names MP4, MOV, FLV, AAC (an audio format), AVI, 3GP and MPEG. MP4 with H.264 video is the safest choice.
At least 500 px; 1080 px or more is ideal. A 1080 × 1080 square or a 1920 × 1080 clip meets both.
No. The file is read by your own browser: its length, size, picture size, tracks and two frames. Nothing from the video itself is sent to a server: the page only counts visits and results (file type, rounded size, verdict), never the file or its name.
No. The checker is free and needs no account or email.
Your browser could not decode a frame, usually because of the video codec. That does not prove Etsy will refuse it; if Etsy’s preview stays black too, export the video again as an H.264 MP4.
Yes, with Laser Clip Maker on this site: it draws a silent, square listing video from the SVG’s own paths, inside these rules. Free to try.
