How to write Genesis, letter by letter

Genesis has 7 letters and 10 strokes in all. On the worksheet each stroke starts at a green dot, and the first copy of the name numbers the strokes in this order:

  1. G 2 strokes. 1. Start above the middle on the right and go all the way round counterclockwise. 2. Start in the middle and slide across to the right.
  2. e 1 stroke. Start just under the middle line on the left and go all the way round counterclockwise.
  3. n 2 strokes. 1. Start on the dashed middle line on the left and pull straight down to the bottom line. 2. Start just under the middle line on the left, curve clockwise and stop on the bottom line.
  4. e the same as before: 1 stroke.
  5. s 1 stroke. Start just under the middle line on the right and slant down to the left to just above the bottom line.
  6. i 2 strokes. 1. Start on the dashed middle line and pull straight down to the bottom line. 2. Add the dot.
  7. s the same as before: 1 stroke.

Tips for practising Genesis

  • Only the first letter, G, is a capital: it starts at the top line. The rest are lowercase.
  • Genesis is a long name. Try the small letter size so it fits on one line, or start with the first letter page.
  • The dot on i or j comes last, after the line.
  • For the very first tries, print the trace and fade page: the letters get lighter row by row until only the start dots are left.

  • The button opens the free maker with this name filled in. The PDF is drawn in your browser; names you type are not sent or stored. Popularity figures: U.S. Social Security Administration, babies born in 2025.
