How to write Elizabeth, letter by letter
Elizabeth has 9 letters and 19 strokes in all. On the worksheet each stroke starts at a green dot, and the first copy of the name numbers the strokes in this order:
- E 4 strokes. 1. Start at the top line on the left and pull straight down to the bottom line. 2. Start at the top line on the left and slide across to the right along the top line. 3. Start in the middle on the left and slide across to the right. 4. Start on the bottom line on the left and slide across to the right along the bottom line.
- l 1 stroke. Start at the top line and pull straight down to the bottom line.
- i 2 strokes. 1. Start on the dashed middle line and pull straight down to the bottom line. 2. Add the dot.

Tips for practising Elizabeth
- Only the first letter, E, is a capital: it starts at the top line. The rest are lowercase.
- The tall letters l, b, t and h reach up to the top line, like the capital.
- a starts with the same round movement as c: begin near the top and go counterclockwise.
- Elizabeth is a long name. Try the small letter size so it fits on one line, or start with the first letter page.
- The dot on i or j comes last, after the line.
- For the very first tries, print the trace and fade page: the letters get lighter row by row until only the start dots are left.
